The inauguration of the newly elected Student Union Executives ’17 Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Present at the inauguration are the Vice Chancellor, management staff, Dean of Students, staff of the Vice Chancellors office, P R O, officers of the information and public relations division, the electoral committee, National Association of Edo Students, Ekpoma Chapter.
The electoral process which was done electronically using E-voting was such that all Ambrose Alli University students around the globe were able to participate in the electoral process by logging on to the University Kofa platform, registering with their Matriculation numbers to Vote for their preferred candidate.
It was indeed a free and fair election… Another best and First introduced by our able Vice Chancellor, Prof. I. A. Onimawo.
After the executives were introduced, they swore their electoral vow and the President SUG gave his acceptance speech. In his speech, he expressed delight and promised to work with the school management and students to achieve the Vice Chancellor’s vision to be the best and the first.
The VC in his remarks noted that while the President elect gave a speech, he stated that cases of excessive charges for textbook would be handled, the Vice Chancellor stated that measures are already put in place to tackle that and it was even mentioned at the last Senate meeting.
The Vice Chancellor concluded by wishing the newly elected executive and peaceful and successful tenure in office.
The vote of thanks was given by the Secretary General of Student Union Government. He thanked the Vice Chancellor for the great innovation of e-voting, he also assured the management that executives are putting all their apparatus in play to ensure the University attains new heights. He on behalf of the student body pledged their allegiance to the school management.
In the Vice Chancellor’s remark, he expressed his utmost delight to be present here at the inauguration of the newly elected SUG executives.
He lauded the efforts of the Dean of Students who convinced and ensured the smooth run of the election adding that this new landmark is already being echoed in different sectors of the Nation.
He recognized other candidates who lost as great sportsmen who accepted the result of the election without making any trouble.
Prof. I. A. Onimawo encouraged the new executives to work closely with each other including those who lost for valuable advice and to ensure peaceful existence in all quarters.
